Full Version: Divx 6.x and AutoGK

Okay, first my main question:

I can't use Divx 6.x with AutoGordianKnot because I get an error message
that says that "this version of divx is not supported".
Will there be a new version of AutoGK that supports Divx 6.x ?

Second question:

Which is better:

Divx 6.03 or Xvid 1.10 beta 2 ?

My criteria of "better" is not speed but quality at a reasonable speed
with single-pass encoding and bitrates above 1000 kb/s.

have a look around Doom9

i'm pretty sure that xivd beat dvix in the latest mpeg4 asp shoot out on doom9

you'll get better quality using 2 pass encodings anyhow

The latest shoot out is from End of 2004. Divx and Xvid have made great progress since then.
Why is Xvid better than Divx ? Please not "because it's open source". I wanna hear real facts about video quality.

Not really.. I'm more used to the normal Gordian Knot. It's complicated
but after long time of trial and error I'm doing good with GK now. smile.gif
Which settings are used for Xvid with AutoGK ?
I'm doing a test now with Xvid. Usually I use bitrates above 1400.
Is that the reason why I can hardly see any difference betwen divx/xvid
or 1-pass and 2-pass ?
