I have successfully installed lame, ogg vorbis, vorbisgain and flac on mac os x. I used the standard "./configure, make, sudo make install" in the terminal. mp3gain however does not include the scripts to use these commands. Without these scripts and my limited knowledge of compiling programs I will not be able to use the wonderful mp3gain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Try it with the Makefile you get at http://slomosnail.no-ip.com/files/Makefile (just copy it in you mp3gain sources directory and type "make" there)
This isn't the cleanest solution but it works for me

People have been asking me about that lately, but since I don't have a Mac I can't do the dirty work for them. Can I forward these messages to one of you guys?

No I've compiled mp3gain on Linux... but Mac OS X is some kind of Unix so this Makefile shall work
There may be some problems (endianess or something) in the mp3gain sources but I can't test it

Slo Mo Snail, I tried the makefile you suggested and it did not work for me. Frustrated I turned to Google and I found this link http://homepage.mac.com/beryrinaldo/AudioTron/ Bery Rinaldo was kind enough to compile MP3Gain 1.2.1 and make it available on his web site. Snelg, do you think we could send Bery the MP3gain 1.3.0 files and see if he would be interested in compiling an update? Maybe we could invite him over to join Hydrogen Audio if he is not already a member.
