Full Version: Shure E2's/E2c's. There's a difference?

Hey guys. I bought a pair of Shure E2 earphones today, for use with my iPod.

I had been intending to get the E2c's, but the salesman assured me that what they had in-store, the E2's, was identical to them (he said it was the American version -- I'm in the UK by the way), so I happily obliged.

When I came home, though, I went on Shure's website and the E2's are listed under "Personal Monitors" as opposed to "Personal Audio" like the E2c's are.

So does that mean that the E2's are not in fact optimal for the iPod, compared with the E2c's?

If anyone can shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.

The E2c comes with a carrying case, the E2 doesn't.
That's the only difference wink.gif

Actually I believe the biggest difference is the colour. The Cs are white and the non-Cs are another colour (grey in the case of my E3s). The C stands for "consumer" btw and is not a regional thing; it's just the retail version.

I just persuaded my room-mate who to buy a pair of E2c's. I have never seen any Shure earphones before. I hope they are as good as people say they are. My reputation is at stake here!! unsure.gif
