after weeks of reading this forum here anonymously i want to introduce myself and say hi to the foobar-community. surly i got some questions, but later to this point.

i´m a graphic designer with focus on interface design. working on macs and pcs i would say coming more from pc-world and that customizing-scene. besides that i´m a manic music-fan like u all here i guess.
so, when it comes to music-software i´m coming directly from itunes, guess surly on the very first view eye-candy looking software, but after working with it for longer the nice interface is quite the best part of itunes. itunes becomes more and more not just a music-software with all these podcasts and video-function without supporting more the audio-aspect. but even without all this, itunes never fills my needs for an music-software, but finally my search is over. i found this community, i found foobar.

i must say a BIG "thanks" and congratulate to this great software. foobar is THE project i was searching for. sadly it´s not that easy to step into the world of foobar and all the plugins u need to customize it for ur needs. besides that many stuff do not work with the latest beta (guess 0.9 b10). besides that, as long i read in the threads, many great plugins still just work with v8.3 and the plugins-developer are waiting for the final v0.9 SDK to make their tools working with latest foobar version.

therefor it´s kinda diffucult to step into foobar-world right now. should i step into v8.3 with most plugins-support, or learning foobar directly from up-to-date version, meaning latest betas?

like i said i´m comming from itunes. even when i think that itunes have a well make interface i´m NOT saying my goal would be to make foobar look like itunes. my intension is more to bring more possibilities in customizing foobar for the needs of any user. in technical way foobar is great. if it would be possible i would like to offer my graphical skills and thoughts to make it more user friendly in graphical interface aspects. me do not know if that´s one of the developers goals either or if this community is more on the puristic way of function. from my point of view function goes hand in hand with a good interface-design and customize-options.
many things like font-type, font-color, bg-color, ... are customize-able right now, that´s cool. for example the use of bg-images is missing, at least in v0.9 b10 and some little things like window frame style could be more extensive, at least from my point of view. don´t get me wrong, no offence. all i want to know if this is the right place to ask for graphical interface needs in general.
