Hi,

I have just got a Philips Ultimate Edge soundcard. I bought it mainly because the Chaintech AV10 is not available in my country and it was the only reasonably priced Envy based card available with a decent DAC (Wolfson WM8776). I have been using the Philips drivers that are written by Q-Sound, however I have found that they resample to 48khz or 96khz depending whether I select the HI-SR (96khz) option.

I have tried using the Via drivers which would not work unless I manually added the Hardware ID’s to the INF file. The Via drivers work fine but they don’t allow the Q-Sound which is odd because the Philips drivers use Q-Sound anyway, this is a problem for me because I lose Directsound 3D and EAX support which is important to me. The Via website mention’s something about rewriting an EEPROM on the card but I far as I can tell the card does not have an EEPROM I have included a picture of the card in case anyone can help me with this.

I was wondering how best to setup the card for optimal quality using Foobar 2000 while still using the Philips/Q-Sound drivers?

Thanks
