Hi!

Recently I got the foo_quicktag plugin, everything seemed just fine until today when I noticed that it enters a value in the ID3-tag and therefore screws up the mp3-file (the SFV-check will fail after rating a track, even if you remove the rating value sad.gif ) So now I've got half of my mp3s messed up, not that it kills me, I can just have them as they are, but it would be nice if there was a way not to change the mp3 itself, but store the rating in a database or something like that!

Is it possible?

Hope you understand what I mean, the release gets messed up if you rate a track...

0.9: Prefs|Tag writing|Dont' update files, only change cached info
0.8: Prefs|Database|something

I'm not sure about the 0.8 one, I haven't got it installed anymore, but it should be there.

The "something" would be "Block Tag Update Operations" biggrin.gif

Note: there's also a version of quicktag plugin that uses an external DB, with sqlite.dll
With this, you can leave your files untouched, and also update the info in the DB with simple SQL, if you were to move your files outside of foobar. Eg: drive letter change, or changing the root directory of your music collection.
You could also merge info into your home sqlite DB, coming from another DB, eg: from music you listen to at work.
(A song is identified by it's url)

You're right, ha.org is great! smile.gif
