Hi everyone,

I've got an Audigy LS, and until now I had used a 2.1 speaker system. Just recently I bought a Logitech x-530 5.1 system, but whatever I do I can't seem to get sound from my center speaker. I've done a complete install from scratch, got all latest drivers, the soundchip on my Epox 8k5a2+ motherboard has been disabled since I got it (bought the Audigy card at the same time), all connectors are properly inserted where they're supposed to, and all speakers work properly... except for the center speaker. It's not broken though, because if I switch say the orange (subwoofer and center) and green (front left/right) connectors the center speaker does give sound. I think I've got 5.1 selected everywhere, and upon testing in the surround mixer I get a sound from front left/right and rear left/right, but not for center. In games using surround, I can't hear what's in front of me (I only know I'm firing a gun because I can see the animation wink.gif ). Same for DVD and the Audigy 5.1 Demo.
I really hope someone knows how to fix this, because it is incredibly annoying not to get the full experience I'm entitled to smile.gif

Well, I can't say the response to this one has been overwhelming wink.gif

I've just thought of trying the onboard AC97 soundchip on my mobo, and suddenly the center speaker works like it should :s
So is there some special setup to be made with the audigy card to enable the center speaker? Because on the audigy it still won't work. Or is it that I just have plain bad luck and my audigy card was already damaged? I mean, it does say "5.1" so one would be led to assume it supports a 5.1 speaker set mad.gif
And since I had bought the card some 3 years ago I probably can't get it back under warranty... but how was I supposed to notice that with the 2.1 speaker set I had until now? huh.gif

So it doesn't even work with the speaker test?

Personaly, I prefer stereo sound track played on 4.1, having the center speaker destroy the imaging

But in games and DVD, that's another story...

No, with the Audigy card it doesn't even work in the speaker test, for that matter it doesn't work anywhere. With the onboard soundchip on my mobo however, it does work, in the test and in the games I've tried. But then, what's the point of getting a soundcard if it turns out the onboard soundchip performs like it should, while the soundcard does not?

So when you swap the orange and green plugs you get sound out of the center speaker, right?

So do you get the "center" and "lfe" test audio from the left and right speakers?

Just for elimination sake.

First question: yes
Second question: no

At first I thought it was the connector cable for the center speaker that was defect, since that was suggested to me at the Creative discussion forum, so I went back to the store and got a new one, but still the center speaker didn't do anything. That's when I thought of trying the onboard sound chip which does give sound from the center speaker. But from the center speaker connector in the Audigy card I get nothing, noppes, nada from the center speaker, or from any other speaker I plug in there.
