Yes. m3u-playlists are basically plain text files (you can edit them with notepad) which contain a list of filenames, perhaps including the directory paths or just the filenames. songs can be mp3,ogg,wav or anything else

so just using note pad and adding the name of the song file?
but do you copy/paste it or sthg? i mean you don't write down all the path for all the titles do you?

if the path changes how will this be working?
can you help giving an exemple please?
thx smile.gif

Of course you don't need notepad if you use Foobar 0.8.3
You add songs to the current open foobar window via menu "Add files..." or by drag-n-drop,
then you can save this list of songs in a playlist file: goto menu "Playlist - Save playlist" and select the m3u type.

Whether foobar writes the paths to the m3u lists or only filenames depend on where you save the m3u file relative to your songs.

Example1: you have song1,song2 in C:\music\album1 and you save m3u to the same directory - then only filenames are written in the m3u.

Ex.2: you have son1 in C:\music\album1 and song2 in C:\music\album2, and you save the m3u into the directory C:\music\ - then the m3u will look like this:
album1\song1.mp3
album2\song2.mp3

/Edit: by the way, if you only use foobar then you can save the playlist in the default foobar format "fpl".
You need m3u only if you plan to open these playlists in other players such as winamp.

Edit2: there is one confusing thing about playlists in foobar, perhaps you should know:
what foobar displays on the screen are "internal" playlists, which are not directly connected to any playlist file. Example: you can use "Load playlist" to open an exisiting m3u-file in foobar, then you can change the order or delete some songs in the foobar window, but it doesn't change the m3u-file. You must "save playlist" again to replace the old file.

excellent! in 1st paragraph :
that's exactly what i 've been loooking for all day long !! thx so much

in edit2 : i find it convenient for it allows comfyness and changing reading order when you're tired of your old playlist, saving it when you need it
(or not, this is the fb2k+ wink.gif )

i'm looking fwd to have the album title when playing an m3u list, i added %album% to pref/display/columns ui/playlists but it does not do it. only the title of the song is displayed.
