For the next version of Foobar, I'd like it if a few things were integrated into the installer, like the clinc diskwriter, the volume bar, and visual plugins like columns. I'd also like it if it could have a database and rating system like iTunes. All of this is available in the current .83 version, but to get them you have to spend hours searching for components over the internet and installing them, and then configuring them.

Your wish has already been granted long ago - just download the "special installer".

This could be done easily by just adding some masstagger-scripts as default. The masstagger in 0.9 does already allow presets which are accessable from the contextmenu - it just doesn't contain rating-presets yet. Of course, for that to look nice, it would be of advantage if one could create "submenus" in the "scripts"-contextmenu - which AFAIK isn't possible yet.

But that's half the fun of it! wink.gif

Seriously though, with all the bloated audio/media players out there, it's nice to have one as lightweight, modularized, and extensible as fb2k. I rather add what I want than disable what I don't want. Plus, like stated above, there are different packages (like the special installer) to download bundled with the most used components already.

However, I would also like to see more of the newer tag standards like %rating% added to the core database as well (and possibly room for future expansion in that dept). I have yet to subscribe to the "all your tag are belong to fb2k" theory and it does get annoying depending on work-around modded components like quicktag sql (not that it's not helpful, just wish it wasn't necessary for those of us that don't want our tags touched where they don't like to be touched, hehe).
