I've got all my music on my computer but I don't feel like lugging around my tower. Is there any way I can set up something so that I can connect to my computer (remotely) to listen to the songs that I want? I don't mean a radio, because I'd like to control the playback and what songs are played.

I tried using SlimServer but no computer has been able to connect to me.

Any ideas?

You should continue trying to poke at SlimServer. Firewall settings?

I've forwarded TCP 9000 and 3483
If you want you can give it a go. Open http://str1d3r.ath.cx:9000/stream.mp3 in foobar or something first then do http://str1d3r.ath.cx:9000 in a regular browser.

Thanks, if you can help.
