I only have one program so far, and I'm not sure if it's any good. I want to trip the music from a high-quality video of Pink Floyd's Live 8 set. ANy recommendations?

Is this AVI or DVD?

For DVD the best demultiplexer is VobEdit (freeware).
For AVI VirtualDubMod (freeware).

Try TMPGEnc Plus (its commercial, but trial should work for you)

From tools menu should be available demultiplexer for mpeg files.

If it's MPEG1 or MPEG2 then you can demux it with TMPGEnc (MPEG Tools... from File menu).
