i cannot upload my avatar to HA
everything goes fine with no erros but my avatar doesn't show up

I also had some problem uploading my avatar.

At first I thought something was wrong with the file I was trying to upload, but I later found out that the whole problem was based on the fact that I didn't notice the two radio-buttons to the left of the form. Default action was set to "I don't wish to use an avatar (remove all current)" and since I didn't notice them it didn't matter what my input in the rest of the form was.

I don't know if you're making the same mistake, maybe your problem is completely different, but be sure to check that radio-button right before proceeding.

Use jpg or gif.

PNG works. But the avatar upload on this forums software is a bit screwey. I am using GIF ATM because this board and the browsers of several people visiting here(Yes I am speaking of you Microsoft users) don't support MNG.

I had avatar problem a while back. It was because of the readonly settings on the files because I backed up some folders to CD. When I copied the folder back to the hdd, I did not realise that the avatar had become readonly, which did not allow me to upload!

myprobles was that the radio butoon switches to "no avatar" after browsing for the file.

when i fixed that
it said that i cannot upload that kind of file (.png)

i re-saved it as .gif in PSP.

and now it tells me that there was an error and i need to contac board administrator.

i just tried uploading my avatar as well and had the same problem. got this:



image used was a plain 64x64 gif. no proxies etc involved. browser used was mozilla.


syelth most likely has the same problem as well..

I have the same problem as Sven. I uploaded a 100x100 jpg file and got the error message:
"The upload failed. Please contact a member of staff to help rectify the problem"
