Hello!
Since I deleted my Yahoo! account and am no longer using MSN, I decided to switch from Trillian Basic to the ICQ client and was now wondering what the difference is between ICQ 5.04 and 2003b. Do both support audio and video chats? Does the new version contain spyware / adware?
Regards,
Sebastian

I can't directly answer your question, but it is my personal opinion that the ICQ client has become bloated beyond all reason. I stopped using it when I found GAIM.
I think you would be better off sticking with Trillian (or GAIM). Then again I think the bare bones approach of Google Talk is everything an IM client should be, so take my opinion for what it's worth.

i really don't like GAIM (as much as i want to like it). I think Miranda-IM is better, or Trillian, but not GAIM (interface sucks big time, even in 2.0beta). but that's my opinion.
