Hi -- first post -- great forum!

I am in need of an mp3 player and I am looking for recommendations. I have read through alot of threads but I still seek your advice.

My requirements are slightly different than most, I will list what I would like.

First is SQ but the caveat is that I will probably never use cans. This will be strictly a source for 2 different stereos and my car player. So I think a good line out is a must.

It needs to be available in the USA, and cost is a minor issue.

It should be 20gb plus but I will buy smaller if it meets need 1 100%

I do not need gapless. I do not need a good screen (I don't look at my player while its playing). I don't care if it shows the lyrics or album art or any of that other stuff. Also it does not need to be sleek, cool, pretty etc smile.gif it just need to be well engineered and sound good smile.gif

Thanks for your help

OK I was searching all over deciding what to buy. I really was 2 minutes away from bidding on a h-120 on ebay when I decided to check overstock.com.

Looking through the pages I saw a rio karma @ $149. So I picked it up. I think I got the last one because when I went back today they were gone.

This player is considerd = or better than the h-120 right?
Can someone tell me are there any good mods for it?
Are there available spare cradels or cables that give a line out I can use in the car?
Was the price good?

Thanks

The price was great if it works.. Be very careful, as they are VERY delicate; I broke mine with a 1 meter fall; don't shake it too much. Personally, I'd prefer a H-120, but at that price for 20 gigs, you can't really argue.

You can order extra cradles for it from rio audio, but be aware it uses more batteries when in the cradle. Get a good cushioning transport bag, and use a cassette-style line out on your headphone jack instead.

Peace,
Tristan.
