is it possible to rate a track/song by simply clicking on the amount of stars?
J. River Mediacenter has such a solution and iTunes does also has it, I think.

It would be great, if the rating column could be locked, so a click on the stars wouldn't lead in selecting the track, but rating it =)

If you're listening to a song and you rate it with quicktag it's a thing of two or three clicks. But if you want to rate a bunch of albums, it gets annoying. (I know about multiple selections, but that's not what I want)

you can assign quick tags to buttons, or add quick tags to a menu for easy use.

I use Samurize and set it up so depending on which star I click it sets the rating of the playing track to that rating using Quick Tag.

I've read quite much about Samurize but I couldn't get it working... I just saw the server but that was everything (maybe I should search for a tutorial )

Here is what it will look like, you can easily change font/background color.



Pop the .ini into Program Files/Configs/media/ and the .dll in the foobar compenents folder. Load up Samurize select the config and you're done.

Yes, with plugin called "AdvancedMediaPlayerInfo.dll".
