I've been using CDex with LAME 3.97b2 and found that when i use -alt preset standard in the dropdown quality box in the CDex options menu no mater what VBR quality i choose weather its VBR 0 or VBR 9 it just keeps outputting MP3's at alt preset standard VBR 2 is this a problem with CDex or am i doing something wrong.

It sounds like a problem with CDex. To get around this, I use the version of LAME 3.97b2 that has the DLL configured with INI setup. It works perfectly with CDex. Check it out:

It's nice because you can use LAME presets that can't be accessed thru CDex's interface just by setting the switch in the INI. Kudos to John33!

The .INI file in the LAME Mod zip works perfectly.
