I have smartphone Nokia 6681 and I was looking for player that decodes HE-AAC and HE-AAC v2. So I found it at http://www.viking.tm. AAC player 1.10 among new features supports HE-AAC. I use it enough to tell you food for discussion:

1. It doesn't decode corretly HE-AAC .aac files. (.m4a and .mp4 works fine)
2. In this version it supports only HE-AAC. Decosing HE-AAC v2 as mono only.
3. The only HE-AAC encoders it support is : Sorenson media Squeze 4.2(.mp4), Nokia PC Suite 6.7 Transfer Music Application(.m4a), Easy CD-da Extractor 9.0 Professional Edition (.mp4 and .m4a)

PS: Info about my phone
Phone model: Nokia6681
Symbian OS: v8.0
Platform: Series60
CPU speed: 220 MHz
CPU architecture: ARM5

Sounds good, I've been looking for a HE-AAC player for my Nokia 6680 (same as yours bit with a front camera) for a while. I'll do some testing and see how it is.... cool.gif

It can't support specific HE-AAC encoders. It either supports HE-AAC, or it doesn't smile.gif

does it support PS or he-aac v2?
senab

Not that I know of...

The only way of playing them is using the one of the N-Series phones (N70, N90, N91, 6280)

I've got the same phone and it works fine for me. It even plays HE-AAC+PS! smile.gif

try this one

http://symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net/

--

nope, that will play them, but they come out all mono and tinny. so not the full AAC+PS stream then.

Apparently (according to Nokia) AAC+ is only supported on N90 or newer phones. Unless someone fancies writing an AAC+ codec for series 2 phones.

update 2: The N90/91 series supports AAC+, so I tried the N90 Music Player, but it plays them in mono too. Without a AAC+ codec all you're going to get is the mono AAC stream.

I found another player for S60 smartphones: MobiFactor Power MP3. It plays HE-AAC with less glitches compared to AAC Player but lacks of the same feature: support of Parametric Stereo content.
Due to the newness of this player, it is buggy, so I only managed to play .aac files opening them via playlist.
