I was thinking about getting one of those cool rubber/silicon cases for my mp3 player(hard drive). But I am kinda sktechy on it because they aren't porus, they cover the player like a glove, and so they look like they insulate the mp3 player to much and create heat that in the long run might shorten the life of the unit. Is it just me or could this be a problem?

Its not just you. I had the same concerns but bought one anyway as I couldnt find anything else I like. I havent had any problem...

Yeah, I figured I'm ethier going to get a silicon case or a leather case. The silicon would provide better protection, but I'm sacred that I would defeat the purpose by createing extra heat. Just for the heck of it I went on the Apple site(I don't own a Ipod) and it said that for some covers, in which I am sure they are implying the silicon covers, they said it is best to take the cover off while rechargeing the battery to releave it of heat.

How long have you been useing your silicon cover for?
