What's the best encoder to compress my music in very high quality files?

Is it still mp3 or the new formats like AAC or vorbis etc?

You probably can't hear the difference between LAME mp3 -V 5 --vbr-new and the original, but a few listening tests have shown vorbis as the codec of choice for classical music; All of this depends if you want to buy an mp3 player or not, what brand, etc..

yes, your title is the worst i have ever seen ... and it violates TOS #6 ... anyway, the best quality would be FLAC, WavPack, or any other LossLess one ... for lossy ones, you should try for yourself.

i like newbies in general, i have been one myself, and i'm one all the time, when i start with anything new ... the point here are the titles! why do they right so undescriptibe titles?
