Do any of you have any personal experience w/ the harddisk-based recording jukeboxes by Creative and Archos at all?
I'm especially interested in using one of them for recording voice (by mic) and audio (by analog line-in from an amplifier) to WAV, which would then be converted to MP3.
Any thoughts?

The Archos recorders record directly to mp3 at a maximum of 160 bit vbr. The internal mike is fine for voice, lectures and such with the caveat that you'll get hard drive noise when it spins-up. Using an external amplified mike will solve that problem. Nex
