I'm sure there is a simple explanation, but for the life of me I can't figure out what. I have a 5GiPod, and the latest version of foobar installed, with the foo_pod plugin. My iPod is detected correctly, and when I highlight and select "send files to iPod" from the menu, the files appear to transfer. But when I go to my iPod and browse the music there, the files that I supposedly transferred over are nowhere to be seen.

Any ideas?

[edit]Seems happy to let me delete files from the iPod, without any problems...[/edit]

I don't have a 5G iPod to test with, but I have had several reports from 5G owners that foo_pod does work.

You might want to check the foo_pod Preferences, and under the Advanced tab, make sure the iTunes 4.7/4.8 button is selected. I am still working on iTunes 4.9+ support, and it isn't usable with the latest firmwares.
