Full Version: ID3 tags don't display correctly

I have obtained my music in a country where copyright laws do not exist for music. I had been using Winamp for a while(and still do when I don't feel like tweaking fb2k and/or need the better database). I use smart views in Winamp and playlist generator in FB2k. I was pleased to find that the format for queries are very similar(with some small differences). So I build a database of ALL mp3s. When I look at the smart playlist a few files are missing, which are in the same smart playlist for winamp. I have never used MP3 gain(though these files amy have it). I have also ehard that winamp writes tags incorrectly. Currently in fb2k the tag type to write is "ID3 v1 and v2". Most of my files have identical ID3 V1 and V2 tags(exceptions being files with tags that are longer than the maximum number of characters for V1, and files with custom ID3V2 genres). In winamp, it displays the tag just fine, but in FB2K it displays "?-?". Please provide a walkthrough for fixing it. If it is perhaps bacause it might not be unicode then TELL me how to convert it to unicode. If it is because an APE tag exists, how do I remove it if it is the culprit? Since it doesn't read the tags of certain files correctly, therefore my smart playlists are missing files. If there is a way to resolve this easily, then I will most definitely move all my smart playlist needs to fb2k. I believe the culprit to be replaygain since they all have it and Ic an't seem to find other similarities. If it is the culprit, how do I remove replaygain FROM ALL OF MY files without having to MANUALLY find out which one has it and which ones don't?

I am using FB2k 0.8.3

Here are the file infos for some files that don't display properly(taken from Winamp's "view file info"):

Also can somebody provide me with a sort spec for extended playlist generator which sorts files by artist>>album>>title?(I'm terrible at doing this in Winamp, and I'm terrible doing this now). Also some files may not have album tags, but they ALL have artist and title tags so please take that into account.
(edit) Also some files have mp3gain. If that is the culprit, how do I remove it?(/edit)

Never mind, replay gain and/or mp3 gain were the culprits? Please answer the other question I had about sorting. Also, what can I do to find all files with NO tags(preferably within fb2k)?
