Hey. I have a CD image (wav+cue). My normal procedure for this is mount image-->EAC-->rip to separate wav files-->FLAC. I'm using "Secure mode" in the drive options. Sometimes it uses error corrertion though, I wonder why. My question is: can I use Burst Mode to speed up the ripping process without worrying about errors?

Short answer: Absolutely

Long answer: you will not gain (or lose anything) in terms of error correction. The original rip has already been made. What you have now is computer data. What you are doing basically is "copy & paste"

Longer answer: Why? Why don't you just use something like foobar2000, which has cue sheet support to load your wav file and then encode the individual tracks. It is way easier and faster in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, amigo (como le va? tongue.gif ). Thing is, I've always been in doubt for using players to rip audio. I'm paranoid that some DSP will transform my audio even if I disable all of them. I try to minimize the steps the data has to go through to ensure that it's the same as the original (that's why I use always the official decoders and ripping programs only, no players, or converters). I will try your suggestion though, but I'm always paranoid, all the time. Thanks!
