Full Version: Easy way to extract CUESHEET from wv

Hello,

is there an easy way to re-create cuesheet file from CUESHEET APEv2 tag embedded in .wv image file (to burn with non-wavpack aware software - using .cue and .wav)? I know about wvunpack.exe -ss > cuesheet.cue and then edit it manually, but it's a bit semi-automatic smile.gif .

Currently I use .flac + 2 cuesheet files (one references to .wav for restoring Audio CD from back-up and the other references to .flac for transcoding) in a separate subfolder, but considering move to wavpack with embedded cuesheet as there is no mess with flac-metadata, vorbis-metadata and CD-TEXT.

I don't know of any method to adapt the cuesheet upon extraction.

There was talk about David implementing a switch in WVUNPACK to extract the cuesheet - but I'm not sure if the file reference would be adapted on extraction.

My latest mod of Tag introduces the --tocue/a/n switches to extract the contents of a CUESHEET tag into a .CUE file - but again the file reference is not amended upon extraction.

I embed my cuesheets with a file reference to the WV file. I guess the resolve is really to embed the cuesheet with a file reference to the WAV, so that it will be right upon extraction. foobar doesn't seem to use the file reference, it just assumes the embedded cuesheet is for the file in which it is embedded (not unfairly!). I have just tested Burrrn, and that doesn't appear to care either.

So, maybe we should just start embedding the WAV cuesheet, and not the WV cuesheet...

Thank you, tried your mod of TAG with --tocuea switch and it extracts cuesheet properly. Besides, I already do embed EAC's cuesheets without alteration of reference file name (.wav -> .wv) and it works fine with Foobar2000, just needed a little tip how to quickly extract the thing in case of a need smile.gif . If only wvunpack.exe had the cuesheet extraction switch... lalala.gif

I dug out the thread where this is discussed with David (bryant).
