Full Version: EAC or LAME messing up output filenames

Hi all,

I'm having an issue where either EAC (V0.95 beta 3) or LAME (3.97 beta 2) is messing up the output filenames. Ripped wavs will have the proper name, but after encoding, I end up with names like 0tmp)4)!3.mp3. When this happens, it also doesn't delete the temporary WAV file. It's totally inconsistent when it happens - the same track will work if I try again.

Anyone seen anything like this? Is there a fix? I'm using a dual core processor if that matters.

Thanks,

Looks like this is related to using Windows Media Connect. Seems like I'll need to do ripping/encoding to a separate location first.

In my output directory for EAC I get that while FLAC or whatever does it thing on the wave file.

FLAC puts the flac with the names fine and deletes the tmp file once it is done

Normally mine does too. The problem is when Windows Media Connect is scanning a folder, EAC is unable to delete the temp files or rename the output mp3.

I have no idea what 'windows media connect' is (and it doesnt sound like a good thing to me dry.gif )... It can probably be disabled, should fix the problem since you can't delete a file that is being 'used' by another program.

It's a media server. It allows XBOX 360 and other network media players to play music, video and pictures. I can't really disable it if I want to listen to music in my living room wink.gif
