I encoded the 'Beatles - One'-album with Lame 3.97b2 and lame 3.98a3 and -V 2 and -V 2 --vbr-new.

I guess everything could be fine as the tracks are encoded with bitrates up to 231 kbps.

But there are at least 4 songs whose bitrates fit not to the typical target bitrate-range of 170-210 kbps.

I got 115, 115, 135 and 160 kbps for those 4 songs.

160 kbps may also be acceptable but I am still wondering about the 115 and 135 bitrates as they seem to be very low with regard to the used option -V 2.

Isn't this somewhat strange... mystical and nearly unexplainable... smile.gif

..you'll get fine with the image (1014 in x) smile.gif

Probably mono files.
I'm not sure anymore but IIRC 3.97b2 -V2 has a bitrate floor hard limited to 128 kbps (excepted 32 kbps for pure silence) which may explain why bitrate is ~128 kbps. --vbr-new hasn't such limit and shouldn't therefore waste unecessary bits.

Both channels are the same ... wooha, that was worth wasting the time...
Ok, time was investigated, so everything is fine.

I've got 'From Me to You' and 'Love Me Do' from the album 'One' in my collection.
As guruboolez has guessed they are mono.

Thank you halb27 for taking the time.
Funny that I get tricked by this ? Mustn't have encoded mono-files on my own before smile.gif
