Well whaddaya know, after all these years, a new version of RazorLame.

Today I've released RazorLame 1.1.5a. As you can tell from the version number, the changes are really minute: I've simple updated the RazorLame.dat file, the executable is still the same as of version 1.1.5. However, through this change, problems that occured with newer LAME versions like 3.97b should be gone now.

Users that already updated this file manually don't need to install this update.

No surprise, RazorLame frontend is almost perfect. Good to hear this news howewer. smile.gif

Seems to be a case of too little, too late. AdvaLame Suite has long superceded RazorLame.

AdvaLame, while relatively unknown, has only prolonged the demise of these *Lame frontends. foobar2000 is the obvious multifrontend successor in my eyes, especially when 0.9 comes out.

I'm not so sure. There are some minor bugs. Sometimes I get sync errors making MP3's through Foobar2000. If I do encodings from the same input files and with the same commandline options, but using ALL2LAME or Multi Frontend instead, I get no sync errors.

AdvaLame does one job and does it really well. Foobar2000 has just suffered from feature creep.
Synthetic Soul
Is anyone able to provide examples of this failing in foobar? Or perhaps some instructions to replicate your experience?

As someone who transcodes 99% of my files in foobar (but has never encountered any issues) I am concerned by these claims.

If there is a bug I'm sure Peter, and thousands of users, would like to hear about it.
Emanuel
I have the same experiences as Synthetic Soul with Foobar, in other words no discovered bugs in Foobar transcodings.

I mainly use Foobar to go from wav or flac to mp3, and I use the CLI.

Fb2k uses external tools for encoding (like LAME), so if things like sync errors happen, it's not fb2k fault - sync errors are when frames/headers get corrupted, and they are formed by encoder, not fb2k - even if fb2k would feed an encoder with garbage, there would be audio glitches but no sync errors. NeoRenegade should check his memory.
