Do Flag tags and Vorbis Comment tags appear at the end of the song file data (like APE) or at the beginning (like ID3)? Just curious and cannot find it in searching/Googling.

They're both at the front.

So, would APE tags be "superior" (and I hate to use a flameable term like that) because they are at the end and therefore retagging does not consist of rewriting all data?

APEv2 or ID3v2 tags are not specified with Vorbis or FLAC. You should use Vorbis Comments/FLAC tags with those.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my intent of the question. I was just looking at the tagging pros/cons of each, I know I am stuck with the tags that come with the formats. Just curiousity getting at me...

Tags on end of file can be written faster, because not the entire file needs to be rewritten.
ID3v2 and FLAC tags offer the ability to add padding to the tag which reserves space for later changes and circumvents these problems.
