I am compressing cds to mp3s using EAC v.9 beta 4 and lame. I have been trying to check my files using AQScript and i get the following error:
" 'aqscript' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. "
any idea on how to fix this ???
thanks
i am using windows xp
LAME is not a lossless codec.
That error message suggests that the aqscript program (by my guess) can not be found. Have you got all of the necessary software and followed all of the instructions?
sorry i thought that lame is lossless. I have read that it is.
I just dowloaded the AQScript, installed, and followed the install instructions, but there was no instructions on where to install.
Lossless codecs - such as WavPack, FLAC etc. - store the original, complete audio signal and enable it to be reproduced with complete accuracy while allowing lower file sizes to be reached due to specialised data compression. The bitrate will depend on the complexity of the original audio, the technical ability of the codec used and the bare limitations of mathematics.
Lossy codecs like MP3 (for which LAME is an encoder), Vorbis and AAC cut out (usually) inaudible sound information, such as inaudible or masked frequencies, to allow an even smaller file size. The lower the bitrate, the more will be cut out and the likelier you are to be able to tell that something's been lost.
I hope that helped clear things up but sadly I cannot help on the Ubernet front as I have no experience with it. Hopefully someone on here who has will be able to help!
Thanks for your information.
