I just recently purchased a Keyspan Digital Media Remote, and thanks to foobar's awesome global hotkeys I mapped the remote to control foobar no matter what program I'm in. It's awesome, thanks for the global hotkey support.

Anyway, what I'm wondering is this: I keep all of my music in one giant playlist in foobar and just browse through it all (it's easier for me that way). Now that I use the remote almost exclusively, I rarely have foobar focused. What I was wondering is, I have Up/Down/Left/Right buttons on the remote that control mouse movement but are basically useless. What I wanted to do was to map these buttons to "Next Artist in Playlist," "Previous Artist," "Next Album," "Previous Album." Basically it would make searching through a large collection of songs much easier. I'd bind these actions to global hotkeys then just map them to my remote.

A) Is this already possible and how?
B) Can a plugin be easily written to do this?

Thanks for any help or guidance. And I highly recommend the remote! Peace

If you are using 0.8.x, search for 'foo_pl_hopper.dll' .

long time user of this plugin.

could someone update it so it wouldn't need 'follow cursor' enabled to work and would use the api to work in playing playlist and not just the active one?
