Full Version: Audio Processing options in RazorLame
Hi, I use RazorLame Ver. 1.1.5. In the "Lame options", under the "Audio Processing" tab, I can see "High pass filter" and "Low pass filter". What is their use ?? I encode Mp3s without using any of these two things. Should I use them ?? and how ??

No you shouldn't use them. LAME decides for itself what filter is best. You could force, for instance, a lowpass of 15 KHz for radio recordings, and so on. But for normal music from CDs you don't need to mess with that at all.

The lowpass value indicates that the encoder will leave out all content above the specified frequency. The highpass filter will block out all content below the specified value (all in Hz).
As Citay said, you need not mess with these unless in special cases.
