Hi guys, I've been browsing the forum and can't seem to find an answer to my problem. I currently have a 2 minute aac file. I need to read this file in, determine each framesize, and them chop it up into 10 second segments. Can anyone point me to a good specification that will help me in reading each frame's header?

Look in the audiocoding.com wiki for the ADTS specs.

If it is a LC-AAC file, you can either chop by looking at ADTS headers and splicing there (in case of ADTS .aac file), or by reading individual MP4 frames (in case of .mp4/.3gp files)

But if it is a HE-AAC / HE-AAC v2 you have to take care where you actually "chop" - it has to be done on the frames with SBR reset flags, otherwise you will end up with pretty unexpected results and probably serious artifacts.
