OK, I'll continue after I've had some sleep.

All programs but LAME you mean. tongue.gif

Many people have said that, and later when lowering the frequency, realized that it was an overclocking problem after all. LAME seems to be very sensitive to that.

Everyone says this.. smile.gif

Do a search on LAME and overclocking, and you'll see much discussion about it. It doesn't matter if your machine can run prime95 for days without an error, or Unreal or Quake demos for the same amount of time... LAME can still not be stable. I've seen it time and time again.

First try setting the clock back to normal before you make any assumptions wink.gif

I don't understand it. My system has been overclocked since day 1 and I can't recall having any problems with LAME. I don't think all overclocking is equal, though. I am running my FSB at 100MHz (instead of the default 66MHz) and 100MHz is a standard FSB speed (with a standard 33MHz PCI bus). Maybe that's why I'm OK.

Well, you can overclock with LAME.. but the point is that you just can't take anything for granted. My experience is that stability in other programs does not correlate with the stability of LAME when overclocked.

If you can overclock and LAME is stable, that's great.. but you just can't count on it just because everything else looks OK.

I'm sure I put a reply on this thread, did anyone delete it for some reason?.
