I just posted a topic on playing VBR MP3's on Flash 8 and have come to understand tht the sample rates must be in increments of 11, ie 11, 22, 44, etc. Now most production recordings are done at a sample rate of 44.1 Khz, so the primary sample rate on a CD n wav format would be at 44.1 khz. Correct me if I am wrong.

I want to test my flash player and I need to convert wav to mp3, and would like to use a default setting of 192 VBR. So, my question is when I convert the song would it remain at a sample rate of 44.1 khz? Or would I have to change the sample rate on the MP3 Ripper? I have downloaded a customized Audio Grabber from a member from HA using lame.

here is the link: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/

If I have to set the sample rate manually, does anyone know of a download link that would allow me to set the sample rate prior to ripping.

Thanks,

LAME will encode at the sample rate of the input WAV. If you rip from a CD that's always 44.1kHz. So there is nothing extra you have to do.

This being HA, I must of course recommend that you rip the CDs with EAC and use -V2 --vbr-new (which would approx be the same size as 192kbps, but of greater quality) as LAME parameters (if that isn't what you ment with "192 VBR").
