after getting adicted to APE2 with my mpc files I ran into a problem when I wanted to tag a rare collection only available to me thru mp3.
id3-tags didn't cut it for me because I want to use APE2 and custom keys.

So what I propose for some programmer that has interest in this is to find a way to add support for APE2 with mp3 files in winamp.
I propose to use the MAD source as it is available.

The problem with APE2 tags and mp3's is that it is not skipping by players and will add silence to the end of the file.

Convert your mp3 file to APE then tag away (has nothing to do with quality).

The idea of adding a 3rd tagging standard to mp3s fills me with cold shivers
