Hai,

i am a newbie here. In fact, i am a newbie in computer world. I use CD-DA X-Tractor program to rip my CD's collection.

I listen music mostly with my Windows Mobile PDA (Pocket PC). I use program called GS Player from Green Software.
You can download the program with its source code here
http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/

I use the program in PPC mainly because its complete features : surround, echo, etc.

I am stunned by the quality of ogg files. I used the above program to test some cd with ogg, i end up ripping most of my collection to oggs.

I wanna ask question, do the program (CD-DA X-Tractor) use the latest version of Vorbis encoder? How do i get the latest version of Vorb_enc.dll? The program said to upgrade just copy the dll to the program folder.

I search and red the sticky post but finally i get confused with all those terms....

Please help.....

I think you should try to use other newer cd-ripper like Exact audio copy
http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
or CD-ex.
imho this CD-DA X-Tractor software is too old(the latest version is 2003..) and may be buggy(it crash for me 1st time when i use it wink.gif)
The important part is, its using the "Xiph.Org libVorbis I 20020717" Ogg vorbis library, which is outdated.

You can try to use cd-ex 1.60++ first,
get it from http://rarewares.org/others.html ,
then download the "ogg vorbis dlls using aoTuVb4.51" from here download
then put all the dlls into cd-ex folder.
You should see something like this if you are done:

Heyy, hello fellow GS Player user smile.gif the main reason i use it is it's unbelievably small size (470 kB).

I recommend using EAC too.
