Hey everyone...

I have just a small question to you - is there anyway I can prove that the CD is genuine?..
See, the problem is that here in Russia we have a lot of pirates who download MP3's on the Internet, create a CD using, say, Nero, print a cover, compile it all together and sell as if it were an original CD...

So, are there any way to check and prevent myself becoming a victim?..

"TTA lossless audio data format"

Its a lossless codec, like monkeys audio APE files, and FLAC files.

Not really a candle to hold between them except compatibility and encode/decode speeds/efficiency. They all make the same sound - so pick the one everyone else uses. my recommendation would be FLAC since OGG have adopted it - and ogg is the non-DRM format of the future imho.

My kind of tea-party.

Naaa, you didn't get the idea...
you don't need the codec but instead a program called TAU Analyzer...just check the column on the left...

Oh, BTW, i checked my Diana Krall's "Live in Montreal" and the result was - MPEG...then i called my retailer and told him about the problem...The answer was simply astonishing - there is no disc like this at all!!!
The pirates here just took the DVD with live concert, extracted the audio and recored a CD!..

Boy, was i amazed!!!

I just discovered something. If you convert a .flac file into a .mp3 file and then you convert the same .mp3 file back to flac again and you check 'view file info' in winamp, the 'block size' of the new flac is 1152/1152 while the original flac has it 4608/4608.

I don't know what this 'block size' is, maybe you guys could confirm this 'theory'?
