quicktag SQLite or something similar (stores custom tags into a separate file)
Indispensable to tag tracks while listening to them and without touching the file itself. (I'm doing it with a remote to tag rating, tempo and situation, then, every now and then I copy these tags to the files in bulk).

It took me a long time to find out what the layout tab is for, but yesterday I played a bit with my settings and finally know how all the guys here do the layout stuff ^^
You can start of with a seperator as base and add sub-panels, think the rest is kind of selfexplaining, at least if you spent some time to find out how everything works

Can anyone update foo_customsort to work with Foobar 0.9?
For those not familiar with it, it allows you to create multiple sort strings so you can can quickly choose a different order to display your music in. It adds them to the Sort menu in the main Foobar menu, so its handy to assign them to F-keys to quickly re-sort.
I'm relluctant to move full time to 0.9 until I can get this or something similar.
I'd love to see this plugin too. This functionality could almost be built in...

The problem is that "Verified components for foobar2000" should be maintained by developers, and obviously they are not ready to do that. I won't blame them, they're already coding all the great stuff. But keeping track of everything on my own is impossible and I'm sure I missed some plugins in my "already ported list". Plus it lacks the last version number/date... Therefore I should work on a better solution by june when I'm done with school, if no-one do it until then.

Yep don't worry I keep that link somewhere and I already said there that I would do it if no one else want to. I'd be more than happy to do it in fact as it would motivate me to learn some new language, but right now I can't afford the time.

Apart from various threads where the topic is mentioned - as its not listed here...
foo_shuffle
Yes, I know its in the core and kode54 has stoped dev* on that one (though I had never encountered any instability with it). And i have hopes that the build in shuffle will in time become more customizable - but who knows, so i just add it to the wishlist. (for now the random-path just seeded once for playlist behaviour isn't what I was used to and I am truly missing the control of history size and jump-distance)

I support you there, after having run foobar for several days now, I'm beginning to suspect the real "shuffle-ness" of the thing. While playing with "Shuffle (track)" mode I find that I often stop by the same bands and mathematically speaking that shouldn't happen so often. Now it certainly never is impossible, but that's a behavior I used to have with winamp (but back then I shuffled the playlist instead of playing in shuffle mode). I could do that with foobar but then the playlist look quite wrong.

The core shuffle functionality in 0.9 is a completely different implementation. Even if it were possible within the current SDK, I would sooner rewrite that mess than port it, and even that is a far stretch from reality.

So much for our great hopes

Well thanks anyway for answering.
foo_dsp_pauseI've written a plugin foo_dsp_silence that inserts a configurable amount of silence after each track on playback, similar to what foo_dsp_pause did.

So lets hope the inbuild shuffle became more mature with 0.9 advancing

And for me its no problem of keeping the 0.8 folder along the 0.9 and use it as my partys/rpg-evenings-jukebox (wich also is due to vis_bacon (where I still used the 0.18 as later versions chrashed the 9x (non-mmx cpu) system I used to have as my jukebox - now with me having a new x64 system that one will be rebuild on 2k (palomino)).

Skip Silence plugin (forget exact name) from 8.3
Was able to after a settable amount of silence start scanning the track till it found sound, usually a hidden track. I like to keep my albums in original layout including lengths of silence leading up to hidden tracks so I can re-create CD's same as original. Thus making the old skip silence plugin needed with my library.
Anything that does this yet?
Seldaek
Apr 14 2006, 16:56
It's "foo_gapkiller / foo_dsp_nogaps / foo_dsp_skip_silence" in the list, and nope, there is no alternative that I know of at the moment.

I hereby concur with John Doe. Or you (Seldaek) can just add the new stuff at the end of the '## Wanted' and '## Updated' lists, and keep them there for like, umm, 5 days or something.

Frankly maintaining this topic is already fun enough like that (just try to quote it to see how it looks in the editor..) without having to check for dates and everything.. So as for now, you can press CTRL+F and check if what you need is ported or not pretty quickly. Then you can read
this post and the few that followed..
Although I could add a date when I add something to the ported list, I'll try to do that, but I doubt it will be really easier to find out what's new..

Well.. before I even noticed that topic I had already ported about 3 plugins. I hate making multiple consecutive posts. Is it allowed? I'll post there if it is.
Maybe the first post of this thread should provide a clear link to the "official topic" - and encourage devs to announce their port in the official topic as well.
