Full Version: How do I configure / disable fading in 0.9?

Hi,

I occasionally use foobar2000's global hotkeys to pause/seek while typing song lyrics in a text editor.

I noticed that in 0.9 beta, fading when seeking is always on. This can make it hard to recognize lyrics when seeking back to listen again to a part that I couldn't pinpoint.

Could you please consider making fading configurable? I don't need fade length; I just want to turn it off sometimes.

Thank you very much.

Whenever I do almost anything (pause, unpause, stop, seek, change track) foobar does this fade thing that is real annoying. This never happened in 0.8.3

I tried opening the Additional settings for my output device (DirectSound i guess, all it says is my soundcard name) but the button is disabled. I then tried setting it to Primary Sound Driver and I couldn't access it then. Finally, I installed the kernel streaming component and I still can't access the Additional Settings. Anyone know what is going on here?

I've asked for the same thing before. I'd really appreciate it if this were made configurable.

Would be nice if they put it back into 0.9. I mean the option to configure fading, turning it on/off and the duration.

I'd also appreciate this feature, as I'm not much of a fan of the fade.

+1 again.......

@Robbie_Crash: It's definetely there with the non kernel streaming output on my C-Media Device. Maybe you're using kernel streaming?

I wondered if I was just crazy! huh.gif I definitely prefer the old sudden pause/unpause over the faded version.

I second the request.

In 0.8.3 i've set it to 200ms. Less is too sudden and more is too 'sluggish' imo.

I don't have kernel streaming installed, I'm just using straight direct sound (I think? I see nowhere to change this setting anymore) through my SB Audigy2.
Fandango
Hm, maybe it's not supported for all sound cards but I doubt it. But it is active per default and there is neither a way to turn it off nor to make the fading duration longer. I suggest you have close listen again, or maybe you're so used to hearing a long fade effect, that the shorter one now sounds to you like there is none.
Robbie_Crash
I guess there might be a 10ms fade, but I dunno if that really counts.

signed for configurability like 0.8.3

I join this request. That really would be better. smile.gif
