I have a somewhat odd question. Back when all backups where to CDR, i would store cd images as data for the more robust data error correction. Now I have some DVD-V images that I'd like to archive. Is it advisable to just burn them as DVD-V and leave them or to burn the image as data to a DVD data disc?

I guess what I'm trying to say, is there more error correction for data discs vs. video discs?

AFAIK dvd video discs are data discs. Only difference I can think of is the encryption on the video. Just look at a DVD in DVD Decrypter and read what file system is listed.

Yes, DVD Video is a normal data disc. You can even create other folders and put files in it, if there's some space left. Just not into AUDIO_TS or VIDEO_TS.

BTW, I never seen a DVD containing data inside AUDIO_TS. Is that folder only relevant for DVD-Audio?

Thanks, I guess it makes sense, I just never thought about it all that much.
