Basically, bblean is a SHELL for windows, just as explorer is.

If you don't know what a shell does, go to task manager and kill "explorer.exe" (don't worry, you can press ctrl alt del and open it still.

bblean replaces explorer with a more linux esq, very minimal but very functional shell. It is themeable by changing text files to do things like outlines etc. It has almost no graphics so is very fast and light on resources.

It also has a lot of really good plugins, like bbcolorex, which is basically an autoloader for 3dc (more on that soon) colour schemes embedded in the theme.

3DC colour schemes are what denotes the colour of windows classic desktops - if you select "windows classic" as your visual style and just play around with the colours in the display settings, it will allways look pretty ugly, however 3dc is the format which allows you to specify exactly what colours are used for things.

http://jote.pai.net.pl/jn/3dcc/ - Jasmin 3dcc is one app that allows you to design your own themes. It also supports loading the 3dcc (.3DC) files in order to edit and apply them without using something like bblean.

I'd probably not recommending using bblean unless you want to devote at least as much time to it as you did to fb2k, and also have to edit a hell load of weird files

Just find a nice theme like area04 or nano or foton or some shiz.

Ok for anyone who wanted my FCS shown on my most recent one (xx0r.light), this is a 1.1 update where I basically recoded it using new things so its much cleaner, uses the right functions for style ($set_style) and selections work properly blah blah blah:



It also has some semi botch support for album artist, so be sure to have a play with that.

Dont have much feedback as of yet other then to say that it works and looks great with my full album playlists. Didnt get it to work at first but thats since you had the playlist filters to be set to specificly be with the name *all* Had to remove that on the first 4 columns to simulate the album side and then change the 5th one to my single playlists. Nothing major but think that setting could confuse the newbies a little when they load it the first time.

1. yes you can simply install the final version INTO your existing beta-folder. no problem, at least here it wasnt.
2. i think it looks quite nice, not my cup of tea (means: i wouldnt change my foobar into your look) but it should please your tastes not mine.

I've downloaded a lot of this MSStyles, including the area04, but I'm thinking all the fonts in area04 very very small! I just copy the fonts to my root windows/fonts. How can I change to other bigger font, or increase the active font number?


can you post your trackinfo code?

You'd probably have to hack it - google "resedit" and download that.

Then open the .msstyles thing and poke around until you find the TEXTFILES> whatever text file for the theme you want to change (hit and miss as to what is the right one) then you can edit exactly what fonts you want.
Save the file and then save the msstyles :]

later, enable the panel in your foobar! can do this going to preferences>diplay>columns ui>layout
