Go to the Global tab in the Columns UI configuration. There should be $set_global(title,%title%[' ('%comment%')']) anywhere. Replace it by $set_global(title,%title%).

Moved some things around and removed other to bring down the CPU ussage from 30 to 2%. Also added a progress bar by the album art to make it ressemble a case =P

I just have a quick question and hopefully there is a quick simple answer. Is it possible to change the menu's background color? you know where it has File Edit View Playback. I really want to make the background of it black and the text color white. Is this even possible?

This columns layout is a mod of Mirror Conspiracy made by picmixer and is available here. I really suggest you use that one as I really don't know what I'm doing =P The bitrate color column came from this thread. But if you dare use mine, get it here (you might need to right-click>save).




It's just transparency. I cropped a wallpaper so it only shows in the playlist. It's on a monitor dedicated to foobar.

The grey bars won't go, so I had to move to a grey theme. Also, a picture the size of window seems to be a better alternative than trying to center the image with album art.

Well I had an idea and ran with it, this is what I came up with:



I would like to see ColumnsUI correct the bit where it adds borders to borderless panels, and I'd like the tabbed panel to come back so my switching would be smoother/quicker but this will work for awhile.

I have plans to make the border change based on what's playing.. either by genre, random selection, or something else. The border and the bottom bar containing the layout switcher, playback controls, and playback order remain constant on each layout. I have it setup to switch between a traditional playlist of Local files, playlists devoted to Online streams, and a large Visualization browser.

Just thought I'd throw this up here and see if anyone has any suggestions on how to clean up the interface. I would like to know if there is a way to import/export a layout from ColumnsUI, and if it is possible to manually edit the size/position of a panel down to the exact pixel via a text editor or something other than dragging the panel frames with the mouse.

That would kick ass, a collapsible per-album playlist. Would have to be a significant mod to the ColumnsUI code or even an entirely new UI. ;]

You will get less borders if you use only one image on top and one on bottom, instead of those small corner pieces.. of course it will look less symmetrical then

If you would like to get into the detailed specifics we should probably take our conversation either here or to another thread. However to answer the question, foo_uie_albumart supports TAGZ for sources. Here's a quick example of how to make it change images depending on wether anything is playing (hit stop/play to toggle your frames):



I used that as an example to keep things simple. With a little time, trial & error you should be able to whip up a block of code to handle genres, a custom tag, etc.

Anyone, Is there a way to save my current configuration and create the above? I like what I have but want to play around with some other designs and go back to my current config.
