Its just a resizing trick

The way I've done it with my layout is by locking the buttons and seekbar and not locking the menu which are all found on the same splitter.

and now I have a question to anyone

How can I get the font in my playlist switcher to be uppercase? I've tried adding $upper but it doesn't work.

Thanks for the help, I managed to achieve the same result as you, but I can't make it look like his with the menu to the left. Any ideas?

1. what vs are you using?
2. can you post your track info code please?
3. for the menu, the bottom right, how did you change the font of it? and what font is it.
4. how did you get the transparency!?!?
5. can you plost your fcs ??

question, is there code to auto sort, by artist, then album, then track?(auto, like when i start up foobar or go into a directory.) i dont wanna have to enable column titles everytime i start foobar jjust to sort.

you can go to Edit -> Sort -> sort by

and then type in

%ARTIST% - %TRACKNUMBER% - %TITLE%

that is the sort code that i use..

I suck at this

I used premade codes. And it doesn't look too bad.

I got one little thingey though.

The album you see there is various artists. And I'm wondering if there's an easy way to set it so that for Various artists above album name it would display Various Artists and before title it would display song artist.

Am I correct I should simple use the albumartist tag? or is it spelled album artist? not sure whether it contains a space.

I am adding some vertical lines to my playlist to separate the various columns. I have created title formating with the %isplaying% field so that I can highlight the then playing track with a different background and text color without these lines. However, I do not know how to title format a selected but not playing track so that I can change the text color and background color with these vertical lines removed. Is there a field such as %selected% or similar for a track that is selected but not playing?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the above code indicates that it does not know how to toggle on/off the vertical frame lines based on a track being selected but not playing, which is exactly what I need. Anyone know if this is possible?

I dont think you can toggle lines for selectedness.

You could try making the lines be the same colour? I'm not sure if that is supported either though.

You want ALL of it in uppercase? If so you could just use upper to encase the whole thing...

Total amount of songs played is not possible. If you want total amount of songs in an album, use %totaltracks%. But the tag must be set in the files.

Would you please clarify what you mean by "album information string"?

Are you referring to code for foo_uie_trackinfo to display information about the album in your left panel below the albumart?

Are you referring to code to put in the artist column so that the artist only shows on the first tack and album information appears on the 2nd, 3rd, etc tracks?

Are you referring to code to use when adding additional columns to display album information?

with the sorted playlist, does it start out sorted? or did u rename ur files with track numbers so they would organize themselves? i think its a real pain to have to hit edit>sort>sort by> etc everyime I switch my view. I mean I could always have column titles displayed but im squeezing for room as it is. any ideas?

You can automatically sort your playlist from the general section of the foobar preferences. For more infomation about auto-sorting refer to this recent thread where I explained it to another user or search the forum for a better explanation.
