What is weird is, large amounts of my artwork DOES work, but everything is exactly the same (filenames and what not). Also, the line $imageabs2(85,85,,,,,1,1,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,)folder.jpg,) will display artwork FINE in trackinfo_mod. I have absolutely no idea why this isn't working.

EDIT: Okay, this has to be a bug, because I just made my group display COMPLETELY empty excpet for the line $imageabs2(85,85,,,,,1,1,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,)folder.jpg,) (which displays the artwork perfectly in trackinfo_mod) and still nothing was shown.

Try closing and reopening foobar - it has to re-resize everything or some shit.

tool++, i'm having issues making my setup look like yours. i've put the top track info mod code into that panel, and i have the same layout as the one you took a screenshot of for layouttree.png, but my setup doesn't look anything like yours.

i know you said that setting up the track info panels with [%artist%] etc. is easy, but i can't see how to configure them at all to look like how you have them. help for a noob like me?

i also can't see where to put the code under the ///////////////////////////// PLAYLIST heading in the layout rtf. this is probably a very stupid oversight, but still...

You right click on the playlist and click settings, then each thing goes in the right boxes.

my current foobar, borrowed items, columns from cepi perez

but as you can see, the album art is cut off since i sometimes have just one song for an artist. How do i set the code so that it will show the whole album art for those artists?

Made a few changes to my layout, changed the fonts and the seekbar.

For anyone who is interested I'll upload it all once I work out a few minor bugs.

The green tick shows that the tags are correct, the album has been burned to cd and is all a-ok.
I have other logos for when an album needs burning, when it has just been downloaded (app logos) or when the album needs tagging.

A couple of features not in the screenshot are how I show ratings and the is_playing display.

I had the very same problem and i thought that it would be difficult to make it look as Tool++'s - fortunately it wasn't. You should make the layout tree identical (and I mean it) - I see that you don't have horizontal splitters between all the trackinfo stuff below the playlist. When you put them in place, you'll get eight boxes, one at the top, one at the bottom and six in three rows - in the ones on the left you put in settings "Artist:" and so on. In the right ones you put %aritst% and so on. You have to change padding, font, background and their colors. Then you change the sizes to fit. There is no Menu button in buttons.fbs so you have to add it manually.
In the single_columns view window you put the stuff from config "////TOP" means top box in playlist settings.

Still, there is one thing that isn't working - I can't get the arrows in trackinfomod to show up. I've changed the path 10 times in settings so far and still they just won't appear! Dunno what else to do. Anyway - Tool ++ - you're the best, thanks for the style and for making the effort to make the configs easy to install and for including the VS style too - I took the windows part and used with one of the standard Xoblite styles - it looks perfect now and the foobar is very practical. Thanks again.

I've made a try with the new single columns ui. It's probably not completely ready.. (maybe i should thank tool+ for 'inspiration' on the design in the group header). Special feature: the CD image in the group header varies depending on the bitrate. A clear and sharp CD for high quality and two worse ones for lower qualities (now i'm only waiting for single columns ui to have group info like album time and avarage bitrate)

also.. is there a tut anywhere on how to write imageabs code for album art? i am having a tough time figuring it out on my own, and i dont want to have to ask here everytime i need to change something...

o .. and one last.. tiny little thing... is there a foobar irc channel ?? kuz if there isnt ... there should be.. this application is amazing, and would be good in irc, good for help with anything...

I dont use anything close to his code but I think that the answer is that you would have to increase the row height for the entire image to show when you have just one track for it

Also, I got some reports of a bug I somehow overlooked with the progress bar in my single column code (see here) overrunning its border and going straight out of the panel. I don't actually think it affected me until I changed my columns config, which doesn't make much sense to me.

I guess it's %_width% not taking the current level of padding into account, which would make sense. Is there an easy way to get the current padding?

I just hardcoded a fixed amount of compensation for the time being. If you change the horizontal $padding in the first statement, you'll have to change the $sub(%_width%, n) to be twice that value.

Edit: progress is now accurate to a tenth of a percent instead of a whole percentage point, smoother animation of the bar

new too the foobar scene, browsed through some posts and made this.

didnt post a thumbnail cause its a 1meg file, sorry didnt convert it.

its not the greatest, but its big i know, cause i have 2 monitors on, I just use foobar on the other monitor mostly full screened, the image is a default album list image incase the folder doesnt have a image. The rest should be easy to understand.

I do have one question...

It is going pretty slow with all those images being loaded, is there anyway to maximize the performance without reducing the number of images.

What's the size of your album images?

In foobar they are 85,85

In actual size terms it varies between 300x300 to 500x500.

You can use a program to reduce them to 85x85.
I recomend you "Powertoys Image resizer"
It's the only free and you can reduce all the images at the same time.

I'm having a bit of problem with configuring my new foobar installation. I've tried installing Tool++ and I've got some of it working but some stuff is still confusing me. Here's an image of what I've got so far.

1. Why won't it show the whole album cover image? I tried readjusting the line height but that does it globally so the songs would all have a 100px line height.
Edit: Got this part fixed by setting group rows to 5

2. How do I get rid of this red/black bar???

3. How do I remove these table borders?

I'd appreciate any help

This is my first run at getting Foobar .9 to run and so far it's been a little different than .8 in terms of setting things up.

Thanks for the help, would appear the table borders are something theme dependent. I tried turning the edge style to none but they're still there so maybe I'll look for a new theme

You cannot. It is a current limitation of Columns UI. You can try to mimimize their effect by setting your component border style to "none" and changing the color for 3d objects in your windows display settings... or choose a foobar configuration that blends with your existing colors.

Album list is brought up using the 8th button linked to the tabbed panel stack. The green checkmark is an 'activate now playing' button. Ratings 2-5 are linked to the smilies. You'll have to create masstagging scripts for them to work. Set "RATING" = "2" etc. Layout is in the zip

Tackinfo also has a line that pops up when comments and/or lyrics are present. Just remove this line if you don't need it.

currently, if i change the numbers that are already there, the images disappear for some reason.. any ideas?

you need to restart foobar after making changes. here's my code......

in my code the imagesize is 122x122.

x position (horizonatal ) is 6 and y postion (vertical) is 2. i don't need anything else.

of course your group rows multiplied by row height must be big enough to display your image. for example my row height is 25 and group rows is 5 which gives me 125. as my images are 122, i have a little border....

Im not sure what are you trying to achieve with those $replace. try to use relative path with imageabs2 (it works fine for me)

about disappearing images it was discused many times in relevant thread. you have to restart foobar every time you change something in imageabs code because images are resized only once and cached.

for all of you trying to work your way through single playlist component pls write your question in relevant thread and STOP SPAMING THIS. pls the whole comunity will be happy to help. but inside thread which is meant for it. if you asked for 10th times on somenthing that is 10th times explained... well we probably explain it for 11th times or point you to conclusion.

okay from now on ill post in the relative thread, but how do i set up the relative path for the imageabs2?

i have my music set up differently, all my music is in one folder, and i have all my album art in a separate folder. And my art is saved in the format %artist%.jpg

C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\My Documents\My Music\Album Art\%artist%.jpg

that is where my album art lies, how do i put that in a relative format?

edit: and to answer your question, why are you using $replace? you only use that when the album art is in the same directory as the music files. as yours is not, just hard code the location.
