spex, you just keep gettin better and better, ill be eagerly awaiting this release like I did your last one... think that i might like this one a little bit better tho... the image for the group display on the last one was big, so my fooby lagged while scrolling through a ton of files (your old config)... anyway great work man .

also, what is that thing that is displaying the artist and title in the bottom right of your pic?

The colours of the 3D Objects in my Windows Visual Style is 238-238-238 for this skin, set all the background panels to this colour, or edit the headphone image and change his colour and set the backgrounds to your Visual Style.

Covers problems. You're right, you need 4 songs to show the entire cover:
2003 - Arctopocalypse... : You don't have the cover image and you don't have 4 songs.
2004 - Nano-Nucleonic... : You don't have 4 songs
1991 - Flight of the... : The original image is not squared (example: 150x150, 500x500)

Regards.

My panel backgrounds are set to 238/238/238. I was referring to the dividers inbetween the panels.. for example, if I stack three track info panels next to each other, there will be a thin line separating each one. How can I hide those divider lines? The edge styles for my panels are all set to "none".. not sure where else to look.

Regarding the albums - I've found a way to solve the 4 song issue, but there's another problem I'm seeing. Some albums aren't displaying the cover art at all.. not many, maybe 6 or 8 total out of the ~600 albums I currently have displayed in there.. but it's still bothering me. I don't see any inconsistencies.. the cover files are all named the same thing and are all in the proper locations; the problem isn't with the file itself because I've tried copying covers from albums that DO work into the directories that don't, and those still won't display. It's almost like certain directories just aren't getting scanned at all. Any idea why this would be happening?

THanks for the help so far.

Maybe I don't explain it well. You must go to windows display properties -> appearance -> advanced options, and see what's the colour of your 3D Objects. If the colour is 220-220-220, then the foobar panels must have this colour, not 238-238-238. You can't hide the borders, it's a ColumnsUI issue.

About the covers problems, can you send me the code you use to show them and tell me what's the name of the covers that you can't see? Maybe the code is not 100% correct.

Adjusting the panel colors to match the 3D Objects worked perfectly, thanks!

Here's the line of code that displays the cover -

CODE
$imageabs2(80,80,0,$add($mul(%_height%,$sub(%tracknumber%,2)),$muldiv(%_height%,5,6)),,,11,-3,$replace($replace($replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,cover.jpg),',',),?,),)

My directory structure is X:\music\artist\album. All covers are named cover.jpg and are in the album folders.

Hmm... you sure you've got the latest trackinfo_mod panel?

Also, you'll need foo_cwb_hooks..

If you want to achieve an advanced configuration fast, then check out the Configuration Distribution Thread Most set-ups posted provide a clear explanation of what components you need. This is a fast way to obtain an advanced configuration which is optimal for a new user. It also will allow you to poke around an advanced configuration which should really help you learn how to configure foobar.

Finally found the time to switch to ui_single_column_playlist

I had the hardest time filtering all of my differently named covera arts out of all the folders, renaming them and changing their size for the small previews... it was worth the time. smile.gif
parameter
My group display looks like this:

CODE
$drawrect(0,0,0,0,brushcolor-35-35-35 pencolor-0-0-0)

$alignabs(100,5,$add(%_width%,-107),30,left,top)
$font(tahoma,15,bold,200-200-200)
$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)%album%
blah blah blah

Which gives a look like this:

As you can see in the group display, it's %artist% %album% (in the smaller font). This works great, however on really long artist and album titles, like "Agoraphobic Nosebleed - PCP Torpedo & ANbRX" the text is too wide for the single column playlist. Is there any way to make ellipses for "%artist% %album%" that is too wide to fit in the column? If not ellipses, is there a way to use $cut(x,y) that would encapsulate %artist% and %album%?

Thank you.
Yotsuya
parameter:

This sort of question would be better asked in the foo_uie_single_column_playlist thread.

Have you considered scaling the fonts for longer titles, something like this:

CODE
$drawrect(0,0,0,0,brushcolor-35-35-35 pencolor-0-0-0)

$alignabs(100,5,$add(%_width%,-107),30,left,top)
$font(tahoma,$ifgreater($len($if2(%album artist%,%artist%)%album%),30,10,15),bold,200-200-200)
$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)

$font(tahoma,$ifgreater($len($if2(%album artist%,%artist%)%album%),30,8,12),bold,200-200-200)
%album%

However a more direct answer to your question would probably be something more like this:

CODE
$drawrect(0,0,0,0,brushcolor-35-35-35 pencolor-0-0-0)

$alignabs(100,5,$add(%_width%,-107),30,left,top)

$left(
$font(tahoma,15,bold,200-200-200)
$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)
%album%
,30)
$ifgreater($len(
$font(tahoma,15,bold,200-200-200)
$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)
%album%
),30,...,)

* code not tested
CepiPerez
@parameter:

Try Yotsuya code, but if you don't like to scaling the fonts, you can use an $alignabs function for each line. This is the easy way to cut the text. Example:

$alignabs(100,5,$add(%_width%,-107),30,left,top)
$font(tahoma,15,bold,200-200-200)
$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)
$alignabs(100,35,$add(%_width%,-107),20,left,top)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)%album%
$alignabs(100,55,$add(%_width%,-107),20,left,top)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)%date%

Play with the height of each $alignabs to show the text in one line.

$left(
$font(tahoma,15,bold,200-200-200)
$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)

$ifgreater($len(

$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)
$font(tahoma,12,bold,200-200-200)
%album%
),30,...,)

That's what I want, but $left doesn't return the first 30 characters of %album%, it's returning the first 30 characters of everything inside the parenthesis of $left().

I don't think font scaling would work how I want it to. I have some very long album names, and even with a tiny font they still go onto the next line.

I'm trying without success to show the average bitrate of an album in the group section of playlist single column. It show me only the bitrate of the first track. sad.gif
Anyone know if there is a way to show the average bitrate of the album (or the average bitrate of the selected tracks) as it appears in the properties tab, even with another plug-in?

Thank you

Theres an easy but workfully way unsure.gif
You could add a category to metadata and write album average bitrate to it. And than add the name of the metadata field
But as I say it is a lot of work and you can't show the average bitrate of the selected tracks.
I don't know another way because I am still new to titleformatting issues

I'm trying to add a useful bit of information to a Track_info_mod but I can't figure out how to write the code for it, so I was wondering if someone might want to try walking me through it a little.

Basically, the goal is to find a way to display an overall album rating that's derived from individual song playcount.

I already have code that gives me a rating from the playcount thanks to CepiPerez, but I can't even begin to think how to parse through the the whole album (that doesn't necessarily have a defined amount of tracks), read the rating using Cepi's method, add them together once they've all been parsed, and then divide that by the amount of tracks in the album.

My though was to use %tracknumber% and %album% to walk through each track in the album (for example, if the song that's being played is read as track 3, then you know that you can walk back 2 tracks to the beginning of the album) and to determine the rating for each track. I don't know if it's possible to create anything like an array using tagscript.

Does anyone know if something like this is at all feasible? I'd love to be able to do it, but it seems like a pretty steep order.

Can't do it. Can only read information from the currently playing/selected file. You can get information about the next song (when using default playing order) using cwb_hooks, but that won't do what you want it to do. And, I don't think cwb_hooks' next song variables work properly in the playlist anyway...
