How come nobody does full screen ones anymore? I love a full screen but am really finding it difficult to code something for it and am looking for some ideas.

blame tool and mazy hehe they made beautiful small ones now everyone has them

I prefer my foobar bigger vertical than horizontal. If monitors were bigger vertical then i'd have a full screen one ;x

Also full screen ones are way too big to fill with useful stuff.

My current fooby with Clearlooks

Basically everyone realised that have millions of pointless trackinfos and stuff everywhere was a waste of space, so the trend (and a damn good trend) is now to get away with the most minimal layouts that still suit your functionality.

To summarized: People worked out that you don't need to have like 10 places where you have the now playing artist, 1 surfices.


Also it encourages people to be me resourceful and economical with space, which is a good thing.

Finally, single columns layouts that are large horizontally waste a lot of space as very few titles actually utilize it.

Just wondering what Visual Style that is and if ya could share the layout on the first image.

ok fellow foobar users, its time for another post by me.

as you will see my layout is still very much based on the old one of tool's.
i have now decided that all that info in the top box was misplaced and i have found better ways to implant it.
the most important thing was the codec/bit rate info anyway. so i put that in the play list but only for the currently played item to keep it clean.

i have furthermore finally managed to make/find buttons which match my layout. they are based in the "tiny"-buttons set i found on these forums. i also removed all the default tool bars which makes my entire foobar columns_ui based. the menus thingy is now auto-hidden under the play list and the seek bar is auto-hidden in-between the equalizer and the lyrics panel.

you can also see that i modified my group display to make its look a little more compact.

and i eventually found a decent wallpaper which resembles the style of my setup.

but lets get down and dirty now

the only thing i'm waiting for now is the function to set a minimal group size in the play list!! i hope it'll get released soon cause my play list can look well messed up with out it

Recently set up foobar on a notebook to support a music system in my new pub and everyone (staff) agrees the best thing about it is the prettiness you bestowed upon it.

An additional Now-playing layout for my htpc:


You (don't) see a fullscreen foobar made transparent with autohotkey containing a big single trackinfo_mod panel. Using a hotkey I can toggle between this and the conventional layout. If I only were skilled enough to make it look good...

If you simply took the alpha down to about 200 it would look 100x better.

@clark that looks really cool, I liked the transparent buttons.

Actually I am not used to foobar2k, but I really try to do so. It is a really cool program, but I have a problem. I couldn't manage to display the playlist as including multiple columns with a header like album and artist shape.
I just saw a work of somebody here and cut the picture to show you actually what I mean.



How can I do this kind of a playlist. I did it with single column, but no with multiple. Sorry for this noob question.

That's not the same, and I'm gonna guess that it's just precise alignment that makes it look transparent..

It's called Desktop VS the only bad thing is the Start -button is in russian or something ;l
