Hi, I was wondering whether is it possible to further enhance Spectral Band replication by using one third or one forth of the bandwidth for the lower part of the spectrum. For example a 48 Knz sampled signal could be subsampled at 16 khz or even at 12 Khz rather than 24 Khz as usual in SBR technique. During reconstruction the replicated signal should be triplicated or quadruplicated respectevely. Maybe this could increase the probability that the lower frequencies differ from the higher ones and the auxiliary signal would be more complex, but the trasmitted bandwidth would be smaller.
What do you think of this?
