I had RG info for all my music using v0.8.3. I would select the songs I wanted to use RG on and I would right click, then "Scan selection as album [or appropriate]", and I just had a quick question about the new release (0.9) and its different options in the drop down box when right clicking a selection of songs.

0.9 includes all the same options that the previous release did, but it also adds "Apply Track RG info to MP3 Data" and "Apply Album RG info to MP3 Data". What do these options do?

They act like MP3Gain; you can alter the "physical" volume of MP3 files that way.

Ahh, I've been told in the past that this is a bad idea.

That depends on what you intend to do with the files. When playing them in foobar2k, there is no point in applying the ReplayGain info to the MP3 data, but if you want to play them on a portable MP3 player (that definitely doesn't support ReplayGain), without applying the RG info the volume differences will persist.

Damn, replied too late.
