I have my files in flac form. I want to convert them to 256kbps mp3's. I have the LAME.exe file in my foobar folder and and have set foobar to access it.

What I don't how to do is change the bit rate and where to do this. Under discwriter the only way I can see to do this is with the command encoder: choosing lame.exe as the encoder and then adjusting the parameters. If this is how it works how do I adjust the parameters for 256kbps.

Thanks for the help.

For encoding VBR files (which is strongly recommended) you could use

-V 0 --vbr-new - %d

This produces files with an average bitrate between 220 and 260 kbit/s.

If you really, really, really want to encode in CBR (which - I repeat - is not recommended) the line is quite simple:

-b 256 - %d
