i've found two websites dedicated to a plugin author's text plugins for foobar2000, but neither of them have links to actually download the plugin. i am using foobar2000 0.9, and am reviving work on a project of mine dedicated to parsing logs of music i've listened to in order to put statistics on my website (similar to http://www.last.fm/, only with more information and faster updating).

if anybody knows of any plugin that will do what i need (let me use customized output to text files with the artist, title, album and time in seconds) i would be very appreciative.

Are the built in 'Text tools' good enough? Or do you need to automate the process? I find it very useful, with the right formatting scripts you can make it output CSV, XML, or even a formatted HTML table.

Edit: spelling and grammar. How did I manage to make so many errors in one sentence?

built in text tools? i'm not really sure what you mean. what i need is something that will append played songs to a text file (which will be processed by a php script, in turn added to a database). if the text tools you're referring to can do that, then they're all i need.

AMIP can do it: http://amip.tools-for.net .

awesome, thanks.

I'm using foo_text for a similar purpose, generating playback statistics with it. Can't switch to 0.9 without it - other plugins are convenient too, but I just don't want to break my playback history, so I consider this essential.

I had a look at AMIP, I think it does most of the job but it seems it supports only specified tags, I need to use some of my own ones. In addition I use some titleformatting functions but I think I could get around that with AMIP's functions.

Musicmusic, if you had time to update foo_text at some point, I'd be really grateful smile.gif Or, of course, if AMIP has a way to use all tags, I'd like to know.

You can use title formatted by foobar in AMIP, in AMIP Wrapper settings specify the format you need, in AMIP use %s variable for this string.

Oh, nice. I use foo_text's date variables, but I think I could reformat the log so that I can use the similar ones of AMIP. However, AMIP seems to delete previous lines, is there way to append the new lines to the end of the file?

See here.

Use /file command in AMIP preset.

Thank you, got it working properly. Now I can finally switch to 0.9 smile.gif
